Airport Test Overview
A diversified market mix was chosen to introduce Hershey’s Reese’s Outrageous King Size Bars to the airport shopper. Airport newsstands have the highest traffic and transaction numbers in retail, and were sent marketing materials developed by the brand for other class of trade venues (convenience stores). Trofie furnished acrylic counter displays, and uploaded the brand’s national TV commercials to the Trofie network*. Candy distributors purchased the product for the retailers and replenished the displays during the 4 weeks of the launch. When the new Outrageous brand sold out, the displays were refilled with other Reese’s candy.

Mentos came to Trofie Media Network to test a new advertising campaign in the month of July. Trofie Media Network tworked with Mentos' advertising agency to promote Mentos with a 30 second spot every hour for 30 days in 60 airport locations. The result of the promotion over the previous year’s sales was a unit lift of 120% and a dollar sales increase of 99%. The goal was to increase brand awareness and Trofie Media Network, Mentos and the retailer successfully executed the initiative!
